Present Continuous (Progressive)

Definition of Present Continuous:

Present Continuous tense is used to describe a verb or an action which is happening at the time of speech. Present Continuous also expresses plans of near future, general changes, repeated actions etc.

Usages of Present Continuous:
  1. Present Continuous is used to describe a verb or an action which is happening at the time of speech.
    • Harry is taking.
    • Boys are playing cricket.
    • Patient is crying with pain.
  2. To describe an action planned in the near future.
    • He is going to open a school.
    • I am restarting my Youtube channel.

Affirmative Sentences

In positive or affirmative sentences of Present Continuous Tense we use is, am, are and ing form of verb. IS for singular subjects, ARE for plural subjects and Am for I.

Interrogative Sentences

In interrogative sentences of Present Continuous Tense we drag is, am, are before subject and use ing form of verb. IS for singular subjects, ARE for plural subjects and Am for I.
